Alaska Island Hostel is a cozy offering dormitory-style lodging in Petersburg, Alaska. Travelers arrive in Petersburg by ferry, off Alaska Airlines daily jet service, by kayak or skiff. Petersburg is between Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka on the Alaska ferry route. We are off the route of mega-cruise ships.

Alaska Island Hostel's second floor kitchen & living room overlook the mountains and muskegs of Mitkof Island and Petersburg. The north harbor, downtown, schools, canneries, stores, museum, and hospital are a quick10 minute walk away. We are happy to share with travelers a glimpse of Alaska island life. TOP

Check-in and Check-out:

  • Check-in: 5 pm to 8 pm
  • Check-out: 10:45 am
  • Middle of the Night Ferry Arrival: Late and middle of the night check-in is available by advanced arrangement at time of reservation. (See our reservation form for more information).NOTE: Outside luggage storage is available for early and late ferry arrival and departure.
  • Cancellation Policy: There is no refund for changes or cancellation's made less then 48 hours before arrival. TOP

Rates:

  • Adults (17 years and older): $22.75 night/person plus tax = $25/night
  • Children 6 - 16 years old: $11.82/night/child plus tax = $13/night
  • Family Room: price depends on number of adults & children. The family room is only available for family's traveling with children 6 years old to 17 years old.
  • Couples Room: we do not have a couples/mixed dorm.
  • Sorry no children under 6 yrs old.
  • Youth 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or responsible group leader.

    • In the summer (May 1 to August 31) between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Alaska time (-9 hrs GTM).
    • In the spring, fall and winter (when we are closed) call anytime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Alaska time (-9 hours GTM). If we are not in, please leave a message with your name and suggested time and phone number to call you back.
